Breckland Council agreed NP4Yaxham to go to referendum on 4th May 2017 - the first in Breckland!
The question asked in the Referendum was: "Do you want Breckland Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Yaxham to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
Everyone in the Parish of Yaxham who is on the electoral register was able to vote: The referendum was on the same day as the County Council elections. At the polling station (or as a postal voter) you received two ballot papers: one for the County Council election and one for the NP4Yaxham Referendum. In both cases you needed only to put an "X" in the box that you agree with. 30th May 2017 "A decision by Cabinet has been published: Yaxham Neighbourhood Plan - Making (adoption) of the Yaxham Neighbourhood Plan Decision: The Cabinet recommend to Full Council: 1) To confirm that Yaxham Neighbourhood Plan as per the referendum version is “made” as part of the statutory development plan for Breckland Council, as required by paragraph (4)(a) of section 38A of the Town and Country Planning Act. 2) To publish the decision as required by paragraph (9) of section 38A of the Town and Country Planning Act. 3) To advise Yaxham Parish Council and any other prescribed persons about this, to meet the requirements of paragraph (10) of section 38A of the Town and Country Planning Act. 4) To amend the Breckland District policies map, to meet the requirements of paragraph (9) of the Town and Country (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
